✨ In honor of International Workers Day, we would like to highlight Hu AnYan. A worker born in Guangzhou, in the south of China, in 1979. After graduating from school, AnYan went straight into the workforce as an intern in a large hotel. Hu AnYan goes on to change jobs nineteen times in just as many years, moving from one anonymous Chinese city to another.

His book, I DELIVER PARCELS IN BEIJING, is AnYan’s personal account of the gig-economy. With subtle sense of humor, much resilience and wisdom, Hu AnYan asks essential questions about who decides what work is in this global and interconnected society of ours, about what the value of our work is, but also, what humanity and freedom have to do with it all.
