Internships

Part-time & remote literary agency internship

2 Seas Agency is often on the look-out for upbeat, smart, and curious interns to support us with the representation of domestic and international publishing rights.

This is a virtual position of 18 hours/week, logging in at least 4 days/week, for a duration of 6 months. Our interns can be based anywhere in the world—we’ve had great experiences with interns working from places as varied as São Paulo, Paris, Edinburgh, Denver, and Milan.

Our interns help us among others manage our social media accounts including InstagramFacebook, Twitter, and Pinterest; read manuscripts; update and prepare our online and print rights catalogs; and explore new markets, potential clients and prospects.

Many of 2 Seas Agency’s former interns have gone on to find a job in publishing after having completed their internship.

Some encouraging words from former interns:

“I’m so grateful for having this opportunity to learn about international publishing and foreign rights. It’s been fantastic to get involved in so many different tasks, giving me a rounded vision of much of the day-to-day work involved in making books travel.
[…] It was wonderful to meet you in person in Paris and I was able to take so much away from shadowing your meetings. Not only how to present books but also the importance of personal connections and how publishing people work in general.
Thank you for making me feel like a valued member of your team and being so friendly, open and approachable. I’ve been continually inspired by your amazing publishing knowledge and your dedication to what you do. Thank you!”Molly Ashby

“I could not ask for a better introduction to publishing. […] My experience in foreign rights at 2 Seas has introduced me to the publishing world in every sense of the word.”Brita Lundberg

“Thank you for all your support, and guidance this past year and for giving me the great opportunity to intern at 2 Seas. I learned a lot and enjoyed it very much.”Aviva Reuben

I really, honestly, enjoyed my last 6 months working with 2 Seas. […] The literary world is something that I’m interested in and I felt like I was good at my job. The internship gave me the experiences that I needed to be able to see that. Thank you for the encouragement along the way, and I hope our paths cross more than just online in the future!“—Alisa Wilhelm

I very much enjoyed my time with 2 Seas, and am leaving with a much better idea of what goes into foreign rights. I will definitely be carrying this knowledge with me for the rest of my book career.”—Amanda Quain

“I have to thank you for these months were very important and I had the opportunity to learn a lot.”Francesca Grimaldi
